The Coordinator
INERIS (INSTITUT NATIONAL DE L’ENVIRONNEMENT INDUSTRIEL ET DES RISQUES) is the French public expert on industrial and environmental risk management. It is an industrial and commercial public establishment under the aegis of the French Ministry of the Environment. Its mission is to provide scientific and technical assistance to the French Ministry for the Environment. INERIS has competence in toxicology in vitro, in vivo, and in silico. INERIS has experience in participating and managing large international projects, including for the European Commission. INERIS is involved in different organisations interested in NAMs as coordinator of Francopa (the French plate-form promoting alternative methods in animal testing), national coordinator of OECD guidelines, member of European networks (PARERE and EU-NETVAL coordinated by JRC).
