Delivering real-world NAMs
Objectives
WP1 is the entry point of NAMWISE, ensuring that the project is deeply anchored in the broader ecosystem of innovation, regulation, and policy. By building strong links with major European and international initiatives such as PARC, ASPIS, CHIASMA, and OMBION, WP1 actively fosters collaboration, promotes coherence, and amplifies the collective impact of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs).
At the heart of WP1 lies a continuous dialogue with key stakeholders — including regulators, industry, academia, policy actors, and Contract Research Organisations (CROs). As frontline actors in testing, validation, and service delivery, CROs play a critical role in translating innovative NAMs into operational solutions. Their involvement ensures that methods developed within NAMWISE are not only scientifically sound, but also implementable, scalable, and aligned with real laboratory and service conditions.

Key activities
WP1 ensures that NAMWISE is not working alone — but acting as a connector across projects, communities, and disciplines to drive transformation together.
By directly engaging those who develop, validate, and deploy NAMs — and by aligning with leading EU initiatives — WP1 accelerates implementation and supports the transition from innovation to market-ready solutions at scale.
By gathering the NAM players in The External Stakeholder Panel (ESP), as a cornerstone of NAMWISE.
Bringing together representatives from regulatory agencies, industry, academia, policy, and CROs as key enablers of method deployment, the ESP provides:
Strategic guidance to align project developments with regulatory and operational realities
Hands-on insight from CROs to ensure feasibility, standardisation, and transferability
A direct interface between NAMWISE and the decision-making and implementation community
Through regular exchanges and feedback loops, the ESP ensures that NAMWISE outputs are not only innovative — but also practical, trusted, and ready for large-scale uptake.
